The Swansea University ESPRC Scholarship will include full payment of tuition fees and an annual stipend for four years at £19,237.

The department of Test Structures is strongly interested in the further development and advancement of knowledge with regard to the behavior of materials and components exposed to the cryogenics required for exposure temperatures of liquid hydrogen storage. Your collaboration is, therefore, greatly solicited.

The existing methods for instrumenting specimens for tests conducted at cryogenic temperatures are limited.

This project will attempt to develop new techniques that facilitate DIC during the cryogenic mechanical testing and significantly advance what can be done now with the present instrumentation in preparation for this vital next-generation aircraft development test.
